About Me
I’m Emily, a fully licensed Makaton Tutor and the heart behind Growing Through Sign. My journey with Makaton began at home, when I was looking for better ways to connect with my daughter with Down syndrome. I saw how even simple signs and symbols could open up whole new conversations, reduce frustration and bring so much joy. That experience is why I do what I do. Today, I support parents, carers, educators and health professionals to use Makaton in real, everyday life—at home, in classrooms and care settings. My sessions are relaxed, practical and always focused on the people you care about most. I believe every child and adult with SEN deserves to feel heard, understood and confident. I’d love to help you build those connections, one sign at a time.
